No Veggies Please

When I brought Little Sister home last year at 13 months, she had never eaten food before. I know it's hard to believe, but she had only been given bottles for nourishment in her orphanage. Since she missed the infant stages of eating, I started her out on mostly soft foods, including those Gerber jars of fruits and vegetables. No matter what was in the jar, she loved it, including peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, and corn. I also gave her regular table food, but continued with the fruits and veggies until about 19 months. Once I stopped the Gerber jars, she refused ALL vegetables. I still try to give her vegetables with every meal. I've even boiled, mashed and mushed them down, but she still hates them all. Can anyone out there give me some advice?

Nope....no advice from the Byrd's Nest! My two older children would eat ANYTHING! Lottie and Emma will not. I even tried the "Deceptively Delicious" where you puree vegetables into things like mac&chese...these two stinkers can sniff out anything! LOL

Cheese!!! I put cheese on broccoli, cauliflower, peas, sugar snap peas and brussels sprouts ~ it worked for Bella in the beginning. Now she eats anything with or without the cheese!!!

Have a blessed weekend,

Have you tried giving her frozen veggies? Frozen corn and peas are quite nice to nibble on before dinner, if they are starving! Mine came home at 13 months too, having eaten very little real food. I started her on the baby guck too, but only for 2 months or so, then went to the toddler-type stuff, but it was tooooooooo thick and gooey for her. So I watered down everything for another couple of months. Then we slowly went to table food. Real veggies. Hated them with a passion. Then I tried the frozen stuff. Loved loved loved that! I also put a couple of cooked ones on her plate at dinner too. I never commented on whether she ate them or not. Just kept serving them. Now she eats them all, including brocolli. :)

Good luck
